In Irish cinemas October 2nd
The biggest film this week has to be The Martian, which sees Matt Damon getting lost in space again, after spending some time on the other side of a black hole in Interstellar. There's also comedy with DeNiro in The Intern and some gorgeous and gruelling stuff in Macbeth.
Matt Damon teams up with director Ridley Scott (Alien) for this story of what happens when a man gets left behind on Mars. Will he survive long enough for a rescue mission from 140 million miles away? Read the book by Andy Weir right now to find out!
Michael Fassbender tackles the Scottish play in a film from the director of Snowtown. This has to be the most visually stunning Shakespeare adaptation ever, and easily one of the best looking films of the year. Shot on location in England and Scotland, there are many beards, witches and stabbings.
Robert DeNiro continues his crusade to wipe out any good memories we have of him with middle of the road comedies. This one is about what happens when a 70 year old widower takes a job at a fashion website headed by Anne Hathaway. It's an inversion of The Devil Wears Prada, bless!
The director of Castaway and Flight takes on an incredible true story - see what happens when a crazy frenchman called Philippe Petit decided to walk a tightrope strung between the World Trade Centres in 1974. Starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Ben Kingsley. Also check out the great doc Man on Wire for the same story.
