VIDEO: In the Heart of the Sea trailer - Thor's having a rough day

Ron Howard (A Beautiful Mind, Apollo 13) has a new film on the horizon, and it's called In the Heart of the Sea.

The sales pitch here is that this is the real story which inspired the tale of Moby Dick. But that's not all which befell the crew of the Essex in the watery wastes of 1820...

The visuals are certainly stunning, and it seems there's definitely a horror edge to what's going to happen to this crew of hard men. Hemsworth looks great in the role and by all accounts the whole cast went through some real hardships to bring it to screen, losing a huge amount of weight to portray the later stages of the story.

The film was originally set for a March 2015 release but got pushed back to December. We're thinking that might have been to finish some of the impressive effects or tweak the edit to be more of a potential Oscar winner. Time will tell.
