Dell may have 4K tablet in the pipeline

Dell’s new XPS 12 tablet will feature a 3,840 x 2,160 pixel display, according to new rumours.

German technology site Giga reports that Dell has plans to release a 12.5-inch 2-in-1 tablet-PC hybrid with a detachable keyboard complete with backlit keys. If it does indeed feature a 3,840 x 2,160 pixel display, that would put it ahead the iPad Pro and Surface Pro 3 in terms of screen resolution.

There’s also the possibility that the screen could be almost bezel free thanks to the same Infinity Display technology found on the Dell XPS 13.

The report also indicates that the XPS 12 will feature an 8 megapixel rear camera, a 5 megapixel front camera, and a Thunderbolt 3 and USB Type-C combo port. It’s unknown what processor it’ll pack or how much RAM and storage it will come with.

Dell may showcase this rumoured XPS 12 at Dell World in October. Stay tuned for more information if you’re looking for an alternative to the Surface Pro 3 or iPad Pro.
