New Android phones to have less Google bloatware

Smartphones are wonderful things but they’re also full of huge amounts of software and apps which you never use that are just using up storage space and battery life.

New Android phones to have less Google bloatware

Thankfully Android users will be getting a little less bloatware in the near future thanks to some changes from Google.

The tech company is relaxing its requirements over apps which have to be permanently installed in handsets running their OS.

So we’ll soon be able to get rid of four apps - namely Google+, Google Play Games, Google Play Books and Google Newsstand.

As a long time Android user I can honestly say I’ve never used any of these service bar Google+, and then only for the Google Photos aspect which has since been spun off into its own app and website.

These four apps won’t give you back a huge amount of storage space but it could make a minor difference to battery life as you’ll have less random software potentially restarting for some reason.

That’s a major issue in Android smartphones, and there are plenty of companies who still leave a huge amount of useless material on your phones which drains your resources terribly. Yes Samsung I’m looking at you.

It’s pretty clear that this is one of the final steps towards the end for Google+ even if the company has quite come out and said it. You should be able to remove these apps soon and of course you can always redownload them from the Google Play Store at any time.
