Master Chief won't take his helmet off in Halo 5

One of the major talking points for fans of the Halo franchise has always been, “What does Master Chief look like?”

But it doesn’t seem like that debate is going to be put to rest. Apparently Master Chief won’t be taking his helmet off in Halo 5: Guardians.

Gamerant sat down with Halo 5‘s creative director, Tim Longo, during Microsoft Canada’s X15 event, taking the opportunity to ask if this would be the title in which John-117 finally takes off his helmet.

“I actually don’t even know if I can talk about that… He doesn’t take his helmet off,” Longo responded.

Some fans have wondered if there is something to be read into Longo’s answer. While he may not take his helmet off, that doesn’t necessarily mean that his helmet won’t be removed.

There will be plenty to keep Halo fans’ minds off this potential disappointment. Halo 5: Guardians’ campaign will be twice the size of Halo 4’s, featuring a deeper story filled with characters from the franchise’s mythos, as well as the new Warzone multiplayer mode.
