IBM has said it launched Linux-only mainframe servers called LinuxONE on Monday.

IBM said LinuxONE Emperor can scale up to 8000 virtual machines or thousands of containers.

The LinuxONE empire system will be based on IBM z13 mainframe computer which has been designed for high volume mobile transactions.
