Pixels review - Adam Sandler's best in years... which isn't saying much
Pixels is Adam Sandler’s best film in years. Admittedly that wouldn’t be hard when his recent releases include Jack and Jill, That’s My Boy and two Grown Ups movies but for the first time in awhile it actually looks like the 48 year old is trying. Sort of.
He’s playing a loser who used to be good at video games in the 80s who suddenly becomes important again when the most unlikely alien invasion ever happens. Personally I really liked the central concept of aliens misinterpreting our signals and threatening war with pixelated 80s icons, especially when you consider the kicking off point was a weird short from 2010.
