Windows 10 user's porn collection displayed as slideshow after upgrade

Most people don’t like to have their porn collection readily available. So one user got a shock when, after updating to Windows 10, their stash was displayed as a slideshow on their desktop.

The incident not only left him red-faced, but got him in trouble too. As he explained on Reddit, he woke up to his wife asking why he had set Windows 10 to rotate all his images on the desktop. “Free Windows and a free trip to the doghouse. Thanks Microsoft,” he posted on Reddit.

It’s not uncommon for pictures from the ‘My Pictures’ folder to be featured on the desktop. However, as this user found out, sometimes it doesn’t matter how deep you bury them; they may get featured anyways.

If you find that your private images, racy or otherwise, are showing up on your desktop, here’s how to stop it.

To turn off the slide show:

  • Open Desktop Background by clicking the Start button and then Control Panel. In the search box, type desktop background, and click Change desktop background.
  • Select a single picture or colour, and then click Save changes.
  • Only the image or the colour you have selected will show up as the desktop.

Windows 10 is now available, and has been installed on more than 14 million computers already.
