Angry Birds 2 flies onto app stores on July 30th

In the six years since the original Angry Birds came out there have been plush toys, a film, a rake of spin-off games, and even an amusement park. A full sequel to that game will be released on July 30th.

Rovio announced that a fully-fledged sequel to Angry Birds will be released at the end of the month. But that’s about all that’s known for sure.

The Angry Birds 2 website suggests we’ll see more of the same Angry Birds characters we already know and love as well as those nefarious green pigs.

The developer has promised that it will reveal more in the days and weeks leading up to the release of Angry Birds 2. It says that it has more teasers, gameplay videos, and info about the game up its sleeves.

In a couple of weeks, expect to see commuters flinging bird projectiles at green pigs and their fortresses on their smartphones and tablets.
