OnePlus 2 will be invite-only at launch

The invite-only approach to sales worked so well for the OnePlus One that it will be rolled out again when the OnePlus 2 goes on sale.

OnePlus says that while it’s sticking with the invite system, though it’s been improved. More details are to be released soon.

Michael, Emmanuel, Carl and David from OnePlus took to Reddit to answer queries from fans and to drop some interesting nuggets of information about the upcoming OnePlus 2 handset.

The team also revealed that the OnePlus 2 will be smaller than its predecessor, but will have a larger battery. The OnePlus 2 will have a 3300mAh battery, giving it around 10% more juice than the OnePlus One.

OnePlus said that the fingerprint scanner will be a physical one, and also revealed that there won’t be a heartrate sensor.

Otherwise, details were kept secret. The team ignored certain questions and responded to others that details would be left until launch.

The OnePlus 2 will be unveiled on July 27th.
