EA will delay Star Wars: Battlefront if it isn't right

EA’s COO Peter Moore says that EA is prepared to delay the release of Star Wars: Battlefront if something goes wrong in the run-up to the game’s launch.

EA will delay Star Wars: Battlefront if it isn't right

While Battlefront could benefit from being released so close to the upcoming Star Wars film, Moore says that it can’t be shipped “if it doesn't work or the quality isn't right.”

But, he explains, that’s not going to happen. “The game is playable with 40-players already, and it is rock solid, so it ain't going to happen,” he told MCV.

His comments come after EA has shown that it is willing to delay games rather than repeat past mistakes. After major problems affected the launch of Battlefield 4, Battlefield Hardline was delayed from October 2014 to March 2015 to ensure the game could be "as great as it can be."

Meanwhile, Ghost Games was given additional development time on the upcoming Need for Speed title to make sure that it’s what the fans want.

Star Wars: Battlefront will be released on November 20th on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
