Jurassic World is the fastest film ever to make $1 billion

It's now the fastest film to ever breach the billion dollar mark at the box office worldwide, accomplishing the feat in a mere 13 days. Amazingly, it takes the mantle from Furious 7, which made the figure in just 17 days back in April 2015.

That's not only good news for JW, it's also the latest great news for studio Universal who also made Furious 7 and recent hit Fifty Shades of Grey. And it's also a series of milestones for the studio with them becoming the first studio of the year to gross $1 billion domestically and $3 billion globally in less than six months. They've already accumulated $3.819 billion (according to Boxofficemojo) which means this is the best year in their entire history.
