Square Enix explodes at E3 with Tomb Raider Deus Ex and Final Fantasy
E3 2015 rolls ever on and last night it was time for Square Enix to take to the show floor. They leaned heavily on established properties like Tomb Raider and Final Fantasy with few surprises but when you’ve got titles like these and Deus Ex it’s all you need to keep fans happy.
got a new trailer. There were explosions and a gravelly voiced trailer man for a bit which looks kind of inspired by Furious 7. It’s absolutely insane really and builds on the over the top fun of the previous games in the series. Also it has a protagonist called Rico Rodriguez, so that’s fun in its own right. The game is coming to next gen and PC on December 1st in America.
popped in with some cinematic action which we’ve already seen. Again it looks like tough times for Lara, which isn’t at all surprising given the fact that she’s still getting ready to really take on the mantle of the Tomb Raider. The recent reboot was a fantastic game, so hopes are high for this one. Coming to Xbox One and Xbox 360 on November 10th 2015.
presents an RPG-style spin off from the main series of games. It’s cartoonish and focusses on cute little characters and is coming to PS4 and Vita in 2016. Here’s the trailer.
got a gameplay trailer. It's coming December 8th. There’s a bit of a strange release plan for this one, you’ll get a base game digitally during the initial launch, which will get additional content over months and years, all for one price. It looks like these missions could come and go over time, maybe with some kind of mobile app which alerts you when a contract is ready. That’s pretty neat. There’s some gameplay in the new trailer.
is definitely one of the games we’re most looking forward to. This sequel to Human Revolution has been in development for a long time and there’s so much potential in the world it could easily be a massive blockbuster.
The game was confirmed for an early 2016 release on PS4, Xbox One and PC and will continue the story of Adam Jensen in a not-so-distant future where the population is split between augments and natural humans. Just look how gorgeous it is!
is back, though we don’t yet know exactly how this new title relates to the 2010 action RPG game. The original was pretty strange in many ways, especially for its mix of gameplay styles and many critics were against its rather dull graphics. Hopefully this new title can remedy that.
brings all the action packed Tomb Raider adventures to your mobile device. It’s coming to iOS and Android and will offer cell-shaded graphics and more of a puzzle feel than the main game. It looks well and is listed as coming soon, so it actually should arrive in 2015.
is coming. These massive RPG’s are a pretty amazing mashup of the worlds of Disney and Square Enix. So you’re just as likely to see Cloud as you are Mickey Mouse. The third game sees you play as Sora and you’ll team up with the likes of Donald Duck and Goofy and a lot of other very much copyrighted characters for a quest to find other Keyblade carriers. It looks like its on Xbox One and PS4.
is designed to set up what’s coming in Kingdom Hearts 3. It has more cartoonish graphics and will be coming to iOS and Android platforms.
has one of the most unwieldy names we’ve heard for quite a while. It’s the fifth game in the main Star Ocean series – a Japanese RPG franchise set in the depths of steampunky space. The game is coming out in Japan in late 2015 and will be targeting a PS4 only release in America and Europe some time in 2016.
