Man from UNCLE trailer 2 - super-slick spies from the director of Sherlock

The Man from UNCLE is getting a big screen reboot with Superman and that dude from The Social Network. And it's looking very slick indeed.

Say what you like about Guy Ritchie (many people have) but the filmmaker behind Sherlock Holmes, Snatch and Revolver certainly isn't lacking in a sense of style. And that's going to come in handy in his latest, a big screen adaptation of the Man from UNCLE.

Set in 1963, it's about what happens when a British secret agent and a Russian spy have to team up to take down a deadly enemy. And they don't really get along so well. Here's the pretty darn excellent second full trailer for the new film.

Henry Cavill is Napoleon Solo with Armie Hammer as Illya Kuryakin and they seem to make a great catty pairing on screen. There's support from the ubiquitous Alicia Vikander and Hugh Grant and Jared Harris are in the mix but the real star definitely seems to be the action. Ritchie again modernises a period world with quick edits and loud thumps and it looks, on first blush, like a lot of fun.

If he can steer clear of the over the top sillyness of Sherlock Holmes A Game of Shadows this could end up being an enjoyable ride, especially with a cast like this on fine form.
