New software will scan your face to see your pain level
It's a question we're all even more familar with in the wake of Big Hero 6 and the cute caring character of Baymax but it's also a highly important step in determining how serious a medical issue is for a patient.
Researchers in University of California, San Diego have come up with new software which links to a camera and scans your face for signs of pain. The sophisticated code is capable of translating your expressions into data and from there figuring out if you need to seek help from a medical professional.
The uses are manifold - if you're making a video call from a long distance you could be urged to get to a hospital quicker, or cameras placed at bedsides could make it easier to monitor the moment to moment pain of patients.
