Apple Watch spectacularly fails drop test

Just how tough is the Apple Watch? That’s one question that many interested buyers will be asking. Unfortunately, the answer is “not tough enough.”

Popular US-based Ukrainian tech vlogger ‘TechRax’ put the Apple Watch Sport to the test by dropping it from a height. It did not end well for the Apple Watch.It survived the first fall intact thanks to the wrist straps, which cushioned the fall. However, when the Apple Watch was dropped onto the concrete directly on its screen, it did not fare so well. Watch the video below to see the results for yourself.If you are buying the Apple Watch, perhaps it may be best to tighten it over a soft, cushioned surface. Or, if it does head towards the ground, use all your wishful thinking to hope that the wrist straps hit the ground first.We’d say that TechRax was hoping in a way that the Watch would fail the test. After all, that makes for a better video. But we would have liked the screen to be made of more durable stuff, especially the Sport model, which might get put through its paces more frequently.
