COMPANIES using ineffective spam filters are playing Russian Roulette with their profits, according to Irish-based email security company Mail Distiller.

Research carried out by Oxford University and Purdue University in the USA revealed that companies and individuals are losing considerable amounts of money in new spam outbreaks.

Mail Distiller co-founder Simon Stock said; “Staff invariably receive the spam and if they respond they open the company up to increased risk. ... Use a reputable spam filter, dump unsolicited email and never respond, especially to offers.”
