Hybrids sales increase amid 25% drop in electric vehicle sales

The CSO said the number of imported used cars this year grew by 27% to 47,554

The CSO data shows just 1,194 pure electric vehicles were registered last month, lower than 1,621 registered in the same month last year and 1,974 in September 2022. 

The decline in new electric car sales continues new data from the CSO shows.

The figures from the CSO show a 25% decrease in the number of electric cars licensed for the first time in the first nine months of the year from 20,517 last year to 15,460 in 2024.
