OpenAI announces new European headquarters will be based in Ireland, creating 250 jobs

Open AI has leased the 8,000 sq ft Tropical Fruit Warehouse in Dublin's Docklands

OpenAI said it will create 250 new jobs in Ireland after announcing on Monday its new European headquarters will be based in Dublin's Docklands.

Open AI has leased the 8,000 sq ft Tropical Fruit Warehouse, which will now serve as its EU headquarters in Dublin. OpenAI currently has more than 100 employees working in Ireland and over the next two years it will add 250 new roles across 'GTM' (go to market / sales), engineering, user operations, human resources, finance, privacy, legal, and corporate/secretarial. 

The company will relocate to the Tropical Fruit Warehouse in late 2026.

“We continue to invest and grow in Ireland as we meet increasing demand across the region. Our new EU headquarters reflects our long-term commitment, helping businesses, developers and communities benefit from our innovation,” said OpenAI Ireland head Emma Redmond.

OpenAI said the number of ChatGPT users has grown to over 1m.
