Key appointments unveiled at mobile phone firm Three Ireland

Three Ireland appointees: Sinéad O’Donnell and Jon Davies.

Jon Davies has been appointed as chief technology and innovation officer and Sinéad O’Donnell as head of corporate affairs with telecoms provider Three Ireland.

Jon Davies will oversee Three Ireland’s network, technology architecture and innovation agenda. He brings more than 20 years of senior tech experience in Ireland and the UK. He was director of digital and innovation at Three UK and director of digital and transformation at Vodafone UK. He has also held senior roles at Adobe, Orange and Eurostar.

Jon said: “Technology and innovation are transforming how customers connect and interact every day, and I look forward to working with colleagues to continue strengthening Three’s network, platforms and innovative offerings for the future.” 

Sinead O’Donnell will lead Three’s corporate communications, public affairs, business PR, press office and corporate social responsibility strategy. She brings over 20 years’ experience spanning journalism, agency and corporate communications.

She was associate director in the corporate and public affairs practice at Wilson Hartnell (Ogilvy). She worked as a journalist with Newstalk and Virgin Media Television. In senior agency and corporate communications roles, she developed expertise in reputation management, issues and crisis communications, and leading high performing press office functions.

Sinead said: “I am delighted to join Three Ireland at such an important point in its evolution. Three plays a vital role in Ireland’s connectivity and innovation landscape.”

Three employs over 1,200 people across Ireland, with its head office in Dublin, its customer experience centre in Limerick. Recent ComReg data found that Three services almost 50% of the Irish mobile telecoms market, with 5.4 million customer connections.
