Primark's new executive Eoin Tonge brings banking experience

A past pupil of Catholic University School in Dublin, Mr Tonge graduated from UCD with a degree in engineering before moving into the world of banking with Goldman Sachs in 1994

Eoin Tonge steps into the chief executive role at ABF’s Primark division during a challenging period. 

Former Greencore chief financial officer and Goldman Sachs banker Eoin Tonge has taken over as interim chief executive of Primark following the resignation of Paul Marchant.

Mr Tonge was appointed a director of Penneys parent firm Associated British Foods in February 2023, and has served as ABF finance director since April 2023.
