The post office in Bantry, Co Cork. An Post's stamp price increase comes into effect on February 27 for personal customers and March 1 for business customers.

An Post is to increase the national stamp by 25c to €1.65 later this month.

In a statement, the state-owned company said the price increase is needed to cover wage increases for postal staff, increased operating costs and letter volumes which have declined more than 8% in the last 12 months and by 50% in the last decade.
