The consumer protection watchdog reported a surge in contacts during the first half of the year, with many of these queries relating to faulty goods and services.
The watchdog, the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC), said the volume of contacts from consumers jumped 18% in the first six months, compared to a year earlier, with 22,347 consumers contacting the helpline.
