West Cork seafood producer Keohane enters €21m deal with Tesco Ireland

West Cork seafood company Keohane has entered a new supply deal partnership with Tesco Ireland worth more than €21m.
The two-year plan will see the supermarket giant "significantly" expand the supermarket's range of fish products across its 170 stores.
Tesco Ireland spends €14m annually with the West Cork seafood producer, with the new deal set to double the grocery giant's spend over the next two years, adding more than 20 new Tesco brand product lines, which will bring the total range to over 50 products.
Keohane Seafoods already supply 30 fish products into Tesco Ireland.
Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Simon Coveney has welcomed the announcement, adding that he was "delighted to see Tesco Ireland agreeing this multi-million-euro partnership with Keohane Seafoods.
"Tesco Ireland’s commitment to supporting great Irish producers, like Keohane’s, is important for maintaining and securing future jobs, particularly in rural and coastal areas.”
Colman Keohane, Managing Director Keohane Seafoods, also welcomed the partnership extension, adding that the firm was “delighted to work with Tesco Ireland on bringing these highly innovative products to their many customers across Ireland.
"As a company, we have made a significant investment in our new state of the art factory. We are really excited that in addition to our core range of seafood products, we now have a dedicated facility that can provide a quality range of “Ready to Eat” seafood products to Irish consumers.”
Commenting on the new investment, Joe Manning, Commercial Director of Tesco Ireland said, “With this partnership, Tesco customers can look forward to enjoying this expanded range of affordable, high-quality seafood products, from this award-winning Irish seafood producer.”
