Ireland's credit rating upgraded for first time in four years

Standard & Poor's has upgraded Ireland's long-term credit rating.

The global agency has increased it to 'AA minus' with a stable outlook.

This is Ireland's first long-term rating upgrade from S&P since June 2015.

It also returns the country to the AA category for the first time since entering the Troika programme in late 2010.
