'A bleak day for traditional retail' - Union says high rents to blame for shops closing

The deputy general secretary of the Mandate trade union, Gerry Light, says that landlords need to face the reality between disproportionate rents and actual sales.
He was speaking following the news that the group that owns the Dorothy Perkins-Evans-Miss Selfridge stores said it was closing six shops, including in Cork, Dublin, and Galway with the loss of between 125-150 jobs in Ireland.
