Irish firm finds gold in Monaghan that 'could become a multi-million ounce deposit'
An Irish company has found gold five gold zones in Co. Monaghan.
Conroy Gold and Natural Resources announced the discovery today of the deposits in its Clay Lake Clontibret gold property
They also reported that there are likely deposits in four other known zones in the county.
The company's chairman, Richard Conroy, said: "I am delighted at these latest excellent drilling results.
"The discovery of new gold zones, high grades and wide intersections of gold add further support that the Clay Lake – Clontibret Gold property could become a multi-million ounce deposit."
The company is now planning its first operational gold mine in an area along the border between Nothern Ireland and the Republic which may have more gold than previously thought.
