Ireland has second highest rate of job creation in the EU for second quarter of year

Ireland had the second highest rate of job creation in the EU during the second quarter of this year.
The rate of 1.1%, was just behind Estonia on 1.7%, making us one of the standout performers of the year so far.
It comes as sixty-five jobs are announced by Kerrygold in Mitchelstown, Co. Cork, in its new butter production and packaging facility.
Ruth Deasy of the EU office in Dublin, has said the long-term trend for the Irish economy is good: "Ireland was one of the countries that saw the highest growth in employment in the second quarter of this year compared to the first quarter.
"Employment was up by 1.1% which looks like it is continuing to grow which is good news."
