Unemployment stays below 8% in July

The number of people out of work has stayed below 8% in July, with 169,100 people unemployed.

Year on year the unemployment rate fell by 1.4% points.

There are fewer unemployed women than men and the number of young unemployed people is falling.

16% of 15 to 24 year olds are currently unemployed, compared to 24% two years ago.
