Mitsubishi expects $480m loss due to fuel-economy scandal

Mitsubishi has said it is expecting to make a loss of around $480m after admitting it cheated in fuel-economy tests.

The car-maker is compensating customers after misleading them about how efficient its vehicles are.

The scandal is thought to cover almost every model sold in Japan since 1991.

Mitsubishi president Testuro Aikawa announced his resignation over the scandal in May.

Mitsubishi stock plunged following the scandal.
