Workplace Relations Commission to hold Tesco dispute talks today
The Workplace Relations Commission is to hold talks between both sides in the Tesco dispute later this morning.
Workers suspended last Monday's planned strike action to allow for the discussions.
The company is proposing changes to contracts and pay for long serving workers.
Derek Casserly from SIPTU has said he does not want people to boycott Tesco stores and added there are better ways to protest.
“The last thing we need is people to leave Tesco in their droves, a huge amount of union members work for Tesco and we don’t want to put their jobs in jeopardy,” said Casserly.
“There are other ways of protesting. They can write letters (and) they can make their views known on the official Facebook pages that both Unions have set up.”
