Inland Fisheries Ireland to phase out fish-farming

Inland Fisheries Ireland has announced a phasing out of its fish farming operations.

The IFI Board said it had chosen this course of action to ensure that it can deliver on its core remit of conservation, protection and development.

Staff involved in the fish farms have been told there will be no compulsory redundancies and that their employment with Inland Fisheries Ireland will continue.

Affected stakeholders will be consulted.
