Anti-pylon groups pull out of Eirgrid talks

Two anti-pylon groups have pulled out of talks with Eirgrid over the North-South interconnector.

The North East Pylon Pressure Campaign and County Monaghan Anti-Pylon Committee represent the majority of landowners and local communities in Meath, Cavan and Monaghan.

They pulled out of the oral hearings on the proposed interconnector, which would see around 300 pylons built across three counties.

They say it was unavoidable due to what they describe as a blatant disregard and disrespect for the hearings from Eirgrid.
