Irish Life staff postpone strike

A one-day strike scheduled for today by staff at Irish Life has been postponed.

Trade union Unite made the announcement saying the decision follows overnight talks during which the union received commitments from Irish Life.

A dispute over a new pay model has been ongoing since the beginning of November, when four two-hour stoppages were held..

Unite represents 1,100 Irish Life workers in Dublin and Dundalk.

Staff had wanted wages linked to inflation, and said failure to do so would leave workers uncertain of future earnings.
