British Gas announces 5.1% cut in gas prices

Around 6.8m UK customers are to benefit from cheaper energy bills after British Gas became the latest major supplier to announce a price cut.

The group said it will reduce gas prices by 5.1%, but not until March 16.

British Gas said customers will save on average £31 after the move.

It comes amid reductions in gas prices announced across the industry in recent weeks.
