Xtravision to close 28 stores

Xtravision is planning to close 28 stores, with the loss of almost 90 jobs.

It is likely the closures will happen after Christmas.

It is understood 55 full-time positions and 31 part time positions are to be lost.

The Irish Independent reports that the decision stems from the decline in DVD rentals.

It is understood a consultation process with staff is underway.
