Fears for 120 jobs at Geith International in Meath
There are fears for 120 jobs in Co Meath.
Geith International, which is based in Slane, held talks with workers last Friday and there are concerns it will announce a reduction in its workforce in coming days.
Local Fianna Fáil Senator Thomas Byrne says the loss of jobs would cause massive damage to the local community.
He said all the stops need to be pulled out to ensure these jobs are retained.
The company started more than 50 years ago as a supplier of buckets and equipment for the land drainage and agricultural sectors in Ireland, and have since become a global supplier of excavator buckets and attachments for the construction and mining industries.
