Nike enjoying 'amazing' sales in China

Nike has said that its sales in China have been "amazing" over the past quarter.

Despite fears of a slowdown in the world's second biggest economy, sales there jumped by nearly a third in the three months to the end of August.

The sportswear firm said it's "very mindful" the economy there is volatile, but reckons its marketplace "has never been more healthy".

The American sportswear firm has seen global profits increase by 23% in the three months to August 31.

Earnings before interest and taxes increased by just over than 50%.

"While we are very mindful of the macroeconomic volatility in China, our brand has never been stronger and our marketplace has never been more healthy," said Nike CFO Andy Campion.
