Retail sale figures continue to climb

Retail sales increased by 11.6% in the month of July and 9.9% year-on-year.

However, when car sales are excluded, there was an increase of just 0.6% in July and 6.6% in the annual figure.

The motor trade had the largest month on month increase - up almost 23%.
