Qantas returns to profit

Australia's national airline Qantas has returned to profit after a dramatic turnaround.

The carrier reported a pre-tax profit of nearly AUS$557m, compared to a loss of AUS$2.84bn last year.

Qantas has been cutting costs and also benefited from the drop in oil prices.

It has also placed an order for eight Boeing 787 Dreamliners.
