Survey finds Irish employers expect to recruit more staff

Irish firms are expecting to recruit more staff in the second quarter of this year, according to the latest Manpower Employment Outlook Survey.

The survey finds that employers are reporting a seasonally adjusted Net Employment Outlook of 6% for April to June 2015, a rise of 4% on the same time frame last year.

The survey interviewed 620 Irish employers, and asked: "How do you anticipate total employment at your location to change in the three months to the end of June 2015 as compared to the current quarter?"

Jonny Edgar, Operations Manager, Manpower Ireland said: "Hiring confidence continues to be positive going into Q2. Employers in all five regions surveyed plan to increase staff in Q2 which is great news for job seekers.

"For college students who are graduating in June the Transport, Storage & Communications Sector is expected to perform the strongest which is evident from recent job announcements from companies such as Core Media who are embarking on their first formal graduate recruitment programme."
