Large drop in number of complaints to Financial Services Ombudsman

Last year saw a 42% drop in the number of complaints to the Financial Services Ombudsman.

However there was a slight jump of 2.4% in the amount of compensation paid out.

The total reached nearly €955,000.

2014 was the first full year in which the Ombudsman had the power to publicise the outcome of cases the office had dealt with.
