Former Quinn glass company sold to Spanish firm

The former Quinn glass company in Co Fermanagh, which was renamed Encirc, has been sold to Spanish manufacturer Vidrala for almost €409m.

The sale includes the firm's manufacturing plants in Derrylin and Elton in Cheshire.

Over a thousand people attended a public meeting in Ballyconnell in Co Cavan on Monday night to express concern about the future of local jobs if the factories were sold to a foreign company.
