€93m farmers payments to begin next week

A total of €93m worth of payments to farmers will be made before the end of the year.

The Minister for Agriculture Simon Coveney has announced that the payments, under the REPS and AEOS schemes, will start this week.

The supports are paid to farmers who have undertaken conservation, landscape protection and wider environmental measures.

The latest funding will bring the payments under these two schemes this year to more than €176m.
