Survey: 90% of firms throwing Christmas party

Nine out of ten Irish companies are planning to throw a Christmas party for their staff this year.

It comes after many companies downsized or completely cancelled events in recent years due to the recession.

A survey by office supply company Viking shows six out of 10 employees say they will go to this year's festive bash.

However, just a third of those are looking forward to it, while 10% admit they are dreading the Christmas party.
