Car website claims car sales exceed expectations

Car sales this year are outstripping all earlier forecasts.

Sales of between 85,000 and 90,000 were predicted at the start of 2014.

However, figures until the last day of October have already come in at almost 93,000 new registrations, according to MotorCheck.ie.

The most popular models are the Volkswagen Golf, Nissan Qashqai, Ford Focus and Ford Fiesta.
