New Dublin waste-collection service for 2,500 city-centre businesses

DublinTown are introducing a new waste collection scheme in order to clean up the city's streets.

The new scheme is being launched with Thorntons Recycling company and will service 2,500 companies in the city centre.

The project will allow businesses to manage their waste better by availing of a daily collection service.

CEO of DublinTown Richard Guiney said the initiative would result in greater control.

"There will be savings for our members. We also want a greater degree of control over waste collections in Dublin city centre," he said.

"There are 14 waste-collection companies in the city centre and we're working with one to ensure waste is collected off the streets."
