NTMA welcomes Ireland's raised credit rating

The National Treasury Management Agency says it welcomes the upgrade of Ireland’s sovereign credit rating by Fitch.

The ratings agency last night announced it was improving our rating from BBB+ to A- with a stable outlook.

The chief executive of the NTMA says he is pleased to note Fitch's recognition of Ireland's favourable bond market access.

John Corrigan says the upgrade underpins already strong investor sentiment towards Ireland and will widen the potential investor base for Irish Government bonds.
