Merger between Fyffes and Chiquita a possibility again

A merger between fruit giants Fyffes and Chiquita could be back on.

It comes after Chiquita, which distributes bananas in the US, rejected a rival offer from two Brazilian companies.

It had already reached an agreement in principal with Fyffes designed to cut the two firms' tax bills by basing the combined company in Ireland.
