Michael O'Flynn: I want to get back to doing business

Michael O'Flynn has said he wants to get back to doing business following yesterday's court ruling in which he regained control of his property development company.

High Court judge Mary Irvine yesterday overturned the appointment of an interim examiner to some of the O'Flynn companies.

In July, Blackstone, the owners of loans backing the O'Flynn business, secured the appointment of an interim examiner and receivers to some of the O'Flynn companies.

Judge Irvine said Blackstone had failed to show there was no cooperation from the O'Flynns in relation to the financial affairs of the company.

A further hearing is scheduled for October.

Mr O'Flynn has today paid tribute to his family for their support and to his legal team for their work.

"The legal team were extraordinary in that it interrupted all their holidays," he said. "The commitment from all the professionals involved was fantastic. It just goes to show when people get together what they can achieve in a short space of time."
